Berties of Bay

What a view!! This is what you encounter as you walk down hill from the car park towards the quaint fishing village of Robin Hood's Bay. It is within the North York Moors National Park, a few miles south from Whitby.

As you walk down the extremely steep hill into the village you will encounter a quaint little store to the right, full of delightful gifts and goodies.  I came across it last year on my travels and was delighted to find out from a friend that they were going to exhibit the work of several artists throughout the year. Hence throughout September you can peruse a selection of my paintings, prints and cards. The shop is open 10am-6pm every day except for Tuesdays.

'BERTIES OF BAY is a beautiful little store that offers unique gifts, indoor and outdoor homeware, art and hints of happiness to fill any home.'

The village has lots of really interesting nooks and crannies, shops, pubs and tea rooms. Not to mention the quaint houses with their terracotta rooftops and of course the lovely bay itself.

One of the many tasty teashops to try! Just remember on your way out of the village you have to climb back that extremely steep hill. Of course you can disguise your heavy breathing by occasionally stopping to look back at that gorgeous view!!

Nearby is the stunning North Yorkshire Moors presently covered with great swathes of purple heather. What an amazing place to live or to visit ....... Yorkshire :) I think it's time for a visit.
