I have just recently had a very Artful weekend, a creative feast for the eyes. Every year Alnmouth have their own Arts Festival over a weekend when lots of places open up to exhibit lots of beautiful arts & crafts.
If you haven't visited Alnmouth it is a quaint coastal town in Northumberland and thankfully on Saturday the weather was glorious. Various venues and homes; some tucked away down various alleyways are given over to the festival.
Lots of lovely artwork and crafts can be purchased, if you didn't make it this year then maybe next as it is an annual event.
I particularly love the venue called 'The Old School Gallery.'
It houses the stunning work of Artist Sue Fenlon and many other talented artists. It also has a delightful cafe and is definitely worth a visit.
One of the quaint homes with very cute steps.
Beautiful day on a beautiful beach.
Well, that was my Saturday treat then on Sunday I went to one of Mary Ann Rogers Open days that she holds at her lovely property in Northumberland. I was not disappointed, lots of her stunning watercolours were displayed around her wonderful home of hares, hounds, ducks, ewes and her eye-catching tulip paintings.
After all the perusing one is of course in need of some light refreshments - voila a marquee had been erected in the garden and it was there you could partake of tea and lots of extremely tempting cakes.
The beautiful Northumberland countryside surrounds Mary Ann's studio giving lots of artistic inspiration.
